Yep, it was one of those days. Have you ever put yourself in a situation that you knew dang good and well that you shouldn’t be in to begin with. That’s how Tina and I’s Fourth of July went. We had agreed to go with two other couples and spend the day boating on Lake Ft. Gibson which would include an afternoon stop for a picnic sponsored by the “Elks” club, an organization that really does some great work for our veterans that Tina and I are members of, and then watch the fireworks from the lake. Now this normally would have been a really pleasant day, but not this weekend. I should have had sense enough to politely make an exit when Ira, a good friend of mine for the last several years, showed up at eight o’clock in the morning already drinking rum. But oh no, common sense just sometimes seems to evade me. Well needless to say by the time we pulled around to the picnic, things were getting interesting. Now you have to picture this in your mind. We are on our other friends (not Ira’s) 34 ft. cabin cruiser which is a pretty good size boat. We nose up to shore and the bow plank is extending about four foot over the bank and about six foot high off the ground. Everyone is exiting off the back of the boat in about four foot of water and wading up on shore. Now Ira, already pretty much in his own little world by now, puts on his life preserver goes full steam off the bow plank and does a swan dive as if he is in the middle of the lake, head first into the rocky bank, lands with a thud, then rolls back down the bank and begins floating away. Great way to introduce your friend to fellow “Elks” members. Well as much as I wanted to let him float away, I mumbled and grumbled my way out in the lake and drug him back up to shore. After checking him over for broken bones, and I must say the good Lord takes care of fools and drunks, we grabbed a quick burger and loaded back up on the boat for the second half of the days drama. Everyone by then had pretty much agreed that watching the fireworks from the lake with Ira on the boat wasn’t going to happen. We cruised back around the lake to dock the boat and being the good responsible friend, as much as it killed me, I volunteered to take Ira and his date back to my house rather that let him try to drive home. Determined not to let the day be completely spoiled I decided to build a bon fire in the back yard and watch the fireworks display put on by our neighbors. I was sure that by dark Ira would be passed out on the couch and we would be safe. NO SUCH LUCK. After we started the bon fire, he fell into it twice, and finally passed out on the ground with his arms wrapped around my chocolate lab whispering sweet nothings into her ear. I guess you could say he really went to the dogs.
The moral of this story. If your friend shows up at your house at 8 o’clock in the morning with a glass of brown liquid in his hand instead of coffee, don’t answer the door; Boats and drunks don’t mix; and enough liquor will even make a real dog seem like a beauty queen.
Anyway, I hope your fourth of July went better than ours. I also wanted to take a minute to tell you about a brand new service that I found out about last week that will allow you to keep in touch with your social network or potential customers if you have a website, from anywhere. It also has a multi tier affiliate program that I think will really be profitable. Be sure to take a minute and check out both of these links

I’ve added this service to the home page of our website and it works really well.

There have been several people, myself included, that have had trouble with the Storm Video Player that comes with both the Mini Spy Pen and the Gum Stick Recorders. Here is a link where you can download a FREE Codec that will enable you to play the videos with Windows Media Player. I installed it myself about a month ago and have had no problems. I hope it is helpful.

Be sure to uninstall the Storm Player software. There will be a conflict between it and Media Player.

I just wanted to take a minute today to wish you all a happy and safe Memorial Day. It has been a very relaxing three days for Tina and I. My sister Wendy drove up from Houston to spend the weekend which was really a treat. We don’t get to see each other often so these times are really special. We fired up the grill yesterday for burgers and dogs then spent the evening telling stories around a small camp fire in the back yard. One of the advantages of living in small town America. She’ll be on the road in a couple of hours, back to the hustle and bustle of the big city. Better her than me.
Anyway, I hope you all take a minute today to remember the men and women of our armed forces, the sacrifices that they have made and continue to make daily to ensure our way of life. Here is a link to a video that really moved me. It pretty much sums up my feelings today in a nutshell. Please pass it on to anyone you know who has or is now serving our great nation. It is only about 60 seconds long and well worth watching.

In today’s world you need the ultimate in home security which includes a hidden camera with IP access. Nearly 20% of all homes are broken into. In 2005, 192 property crimes per 1,000 homes occurred. Property crime makes up more than ¾ of all crime in the United States and of the burglaries that occurred more than 84% of them were because the offender gained entry into the victims residence. Households that are rented have a slightly higher rate of property crime than homes that are owned but both are at incredible risk of having a crime happen when no adult is home.
A hidden camera with IP access can give you peace of mind and security You can check in on your home no matter where you are just by accessing the IP address to your camera. There is no more need to worry about what is happening at home even if you are away on business or vacation. You can always feel like you are right there.
It does not have to be an elaborate set up or an overly expensive system you can get a IP camera that is hidden in an alarm clock or cd player. It will fit right in with the décor of any room and with any budget. No one will ever know that the camera is there and you will always have an eye on your home even if you are a continent away.
These cameras are not only wonderful for keeping an eye on property to make sure it is safe but what about your loved ones when not at home. More and more families are having to leave elderly sick loved ones. Teenagers or children at home while both parents are at work. Over 53% of violent crimes occur during the day between the hours of 6am and 6 pm. Of all robberies in 2005 over 48% of them involved a weapon. It is hard as a parent to have peace of mind when you are not at home to ensure that all is well. Having a hidden camera with IP access gives everyone the ability to know for sure that everything is fine. You can relax and enjoy yourself while away, or concentrate on your work so much easier when you have the ability to look in on your home to make sure that it is fine anytime that you want to. It gives you freedom to know that your belongings, your home and your loved ones are safe anytime that you want to know for sure.
The hidden camera items are also working appliances that you can get such as a sony clock radio, a tower fan, a cordless phone or a cd player so they serve two purposes and will never be detected. They are practical, fit in with any room and are useful which makes them an even more economical and wise choice. You can hook cameras up to a USB-DVR connection so that you can record constantly for those times you can’t be watching which makes it the ultimate in home security systems. You get peace of mind, constant protection and a life of freedom and security. A hidden camera with IP access is the best thing you can do for your family and your home.
